Fire Fighters’ Cancer Research Fund
Fire Fighters’ Cancer Research Fund - The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation
The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation has partnered with the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association in the fight against cancer by raising funds to support cancer research at Princess Margaret Hospital.

The Fire Fighters’ Cancer Research Fund was established in 1998 to raise money for Princess Margaret Hospital.  Since inception, almost $1 million has been raised for this fund.  The hospital benefits from a variety of annual firefighters' fundraising events including the Rob Penney Memorial Slo-Pitch Tournament, Ross Forfar Memorial Golf Tournament, Toronto Fire Fighter Magic Show, and of course, the popular Toronto Fire Fighter Calendar.  100% of proceeds from the calendar and all of these events go directly to the Fire Fighters' Cancer Research Fund.

The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation is grateful for the continued support and commitment of the firefighters and The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters' Association in the fight against cancer.

The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association
The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association
The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Association (TPFFA) is the union that represents the 3,200 fire fighters of the Toronto Fire Services.  Formed in 1998 with the amalgamation of the City of Toronto, the TPFFA brought together the former associations into a new cohesive bargaining unit.  The association is affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), as Local 3888, and the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association (OPFFA).

As well as looking after the contractual working conditions of Toronto’s professional fire fighters, the association takes pride in its involvement in the communities of Toronto.  On or off duty, fire fighters work to improve the lives of Toronto’s citizens.  The TPFFA raises over $400,000 yearly through fund raising initiatives.  These funds are distributed to a wide range of charities including the United Way, Daily Bread Food Bank, various women’s and family shelters, as well as Toronto’s health care facilities.  The TPFFA also offers assistance to individuals and families who suffer a fire and find themselves in financial stress or without accommodation.

The TPFFA are woven into the fabric of this city and bring the work and assistance of fire fighters directly to the citizens of Toronto.
